These heirloom lilac bushes have grown in front
of the ranch house for decades. Each spring their fragrance
wafts into the living room, filling the house with a light
perfume. The front porch was rebuilt with redwood in 1998, and is a perfect place to barbeque or just to sit and enjoy the view. The middle bedroom upstairs has a dormer window affording a panoramic view of Broken Off Mountain, the pastures, and Peterson Ridge. The tin roof was installed over the original wood shakes years after the house was built. We replaced a couple of the panels in 1999 and left the remainder because we love the effect of old tin. |
