This ridge also provides panoramic views of the
San Juan Mountains, and may be somewhat easier to access than is the
East Ridge. An excellent hunting spot lies just off the west side of the ridge, where a natural migration trail leads elk and deer down from the higher elevations each autumn. At the base of this ridge there was for decades a year-around natural spring. As the water table has dropped in recent years, the spring no longer runs. However, it should be an excellent and accessible spot to drill a well. |
